Teaching is an absolute passion of mine! I am so excited to work with you and your child! I know we are going to have a successful and positive year together! There are many reasons why I have chosen to commit myself to being an educator, and my love for children is among the most important. I strongly believe that every child has the ability to learn and grow and that my role as their teacher is one that is taken with much pride and seriousness. I want to thank you for being my partners in this endeavor.
It’s g
oing to be a year full of tremendous growth. Fifth grade is a pivotal year for students in many areas. I encourage you to contact me when you have any questions or concerns so we can work as a team toward your student’s success. Please know I am always more than willing to answer any questions you may have throughout the school year through calls BEFORE or AFTER school, emails, or scheduled conferences.
With that, I view my classroom as a family, we are better when we work together. Knowing that a key component in making that happen is getting to know my families and making sure my families know a little about me. I have lived in Fresno most of my life. I went to the University of Oregon where I became an Alpha Phi and learned to bleed yellow and green. Go Ducks! I came back to Fresno and earned my teaching credential at Fresno State. Go Dogs! I come from a family of educators. My family and my career mean so much to me.
I am married to my husband Tom and together we have three beautiful children, Lola (age 6), Wesley (age 4), Eloise (1). This will be my fourth year at Fugman, and I have to tell you, we Marlin’s truly do SWIM with the best of the best. This year’s theme: Better Together…SWIM.
